We are delighted that our Immediate Past President of EURACT Dr Jo Buchanan has been awarded the Paul Freeling Award for 2020.

The award is given annually by the RCGP for innovative or meritorious work in the field of vocational training for general practice.

About Paul Freeling:

Paul Freeling was a principal in a general practice in London, with Max Clyne, a leading member of Michael Balint's original teaching-cum-research seminar. Paul later joined a similar group, where he met Kevin Browne, with whom he wrote the first two editions of his groundbreaking monograph The Doctor-Patient Relationship. He was one of the six authors of The Future General Practitioner, published in 1972 and destined to become the most referenced embodiment of the aims and values of the Royal College of General Practitioners.
